Frostkrone: Veganuary – Vegan Delights, Finger Food-Style
Rietberg/Germany, 19 December 2023. Veganuary is ready to roll! Now for the tenth time, people throughout the world are being called upon to make the whole month of January the time when they follow a vegan diet. And the Frostkrone Food Group - thanks to their fantastically varied choice of vegan products - can offer a whole lot of culinary delight and indeed pure enjoyment with their finger food and snacks. The month of Veganuary is a good opportunity for the trade to ramp up all kinds of offers by means of promotions at a time when consumers show great interest and when demand is very high. It is a good way of finding out which products should be placed in the freezers throughout the year.
“It is often the case that consumers cannot imagine how a vegan diet could suit their lifestyle and routine. So such promotions constitute a golden opportunity for them to try out eating in this way. Our extensive range of finger food and snacks clearly proves that a vegan diet does not only taste really good but it can also be prepared quickly and easily,” points out Emiel Lommen, Global Commercial Director of the Frostkrone Food Group.

Riding high at the moment is the selection of vegan seafood, which has recently extended even further the plant-based range:
- The vegan Calamari can hardly be distinguished from the real thing in taste and consistency. Enveloped in their crispy coating, they are absolutely delicious as finger food and/or as a side dish. And something that is just as crunchy: the plant-based Shrimps with their soft, tender but nevertheless firm texture and exquisite taste.
- The Fish Goujons – tasty vegan fish sticks – and the crunchy Chilli Cheese Nuggets with their hot and punchy creamy mix made of vegan cheese and fiery chilli pieces also suit perfectly the laid-back lifestyle of Gen Z, who gladly turn their back on animal products but who do not wish to go without good quality, flavoursome meals.

“The huge challenge when developing vegan products is our endeavour to hit the taste, consistency and appearance of the original food as closely as possible. So for all these reasons, there is a massive amount of trying and testing in the Product Development section before any product is actually ready to be launched on the market. Jörg Koch expounds on this as follows: “The vegan shrimps are a very good example of this modus operandi: they are made for the most part out of potato starch, but taste so fantastic that one can hardly notice any difference to the real seafood and they also look more or less identical.”
And the reason for this is always the same: the Company Group wishes to create finger food and snack variations that are fun to eat and so delicious that they are to die for.
